Donations for Spring Break Trip
This
year the Iowa State University Associated General Contractors (AGC)
Student Chapter will be partaking in our Thanksgiving Break service trip
as well as our annual Spring Break service trip. Our goal this year is to
reach 5,000 hours of community service throughout the year. We will be
traveling to Joplin, Missouri to help rebuild the homes that were
destroyed by one of the most devastating tornadoes in U.S. history this
past summer. For Thanksgiving
Break, we are planning on taking 23 chapter members to help restore Joplin
and we are hoping to take close to 50 volunteers for the Spring Break
trip.
This
will be ISU AGC’s 7th consecutive year taking part in a Spring
Break service trip and 2nd year participating in a Thanksgiving
Break service trip. In past years, we have sent trips to Mississippi for
Hurricane Katrina relief and to Cedar Rapids and Nashville for flood
relief. Our chapter has completed over 12,800 hours of community service
over these seven trips and is excited to continue our volunteer efforts in
the future.
All
of these trips have been funded by donations from contractors and alumni
such as you. In order to make
our trips possible again this year, we are looking for donations to cover
housing, food, and transportation for our student volunteers during these
service trips. If your company
chooses to contribute to our service trips, your company logo will be
printed on t-shirts that our students wear during Thanksgiving Break,
Spring Break, and beyond.
Along with this, a banner will be displayed on our construction sites for
the duration of each trip, with your logo printed on it.
Any dollar amount, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
