Max Hertwig

Description:
Arthur Croyle will be presenting work created by the German graphic designer Max Hertwig. Hertwig belonged to the first generation of graphic designers in Germany shortly after the turn of the twentieth century who molded the discipline and profession of graphic design. He collaborated with some of the most noteworthy architects, designers, and educators of his time. Hertwig's work spans six decades and is a chronology of the artistic and historic developments in Germany and Europe. Croyle has concentrated on german graphic design history for twenty years and written several articles for national publications about this research interest as well as made presentations and curated shows about this subject area.
