Philanthropy

The Alpha Sigma Kappa - Epsilon Chapter's main philanthropy event is called Scout-It-Out. At this event the sisters of ASK host a day of fun and science for the Girl Scout Troops in the surrounding area. This event is put together on campus and gives the scouts a chance to experience first hand a broad range of science fun with the members of ASK. In preparation, each ASK member pairs together with another member to organize and present an activity in a field of science. During the day of the event the scouts go to many different tables and are able to do hands on learning with the sisters.

Alpha Sigma Kappa is also involved in volunteer work for many of the other Girl Scout activities in the area, local science fair judging, special Olympics, and school talks.

Sisters are encouraged to participate in many philanthropy activities with both ASK and outside groups. Sisters are required to participate in Scout-It-Out and other designated philanthropy activities.

"We invite Junior Girl Scouts to come and participate in different math, science, and engineering activities.  We host this event with hopes to spark an interest about technical fields to the Girl Scouts.  This is a great role modeling opportunity for all of the ladies of Alpha Sigma Kappa, as the Girl Scouts are always very excited to spend the afternoon with college students."- Allison Bailey
