Iowa State Club Baseball will host the Minnesota State Mavericks this weekend at Cap Timm Field. (the Southwest Sports Complex) this weekend with a doubleheader played both Saturday and Sunday. The games start Saturday 4/14 @ 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm also on Sunday 4/15 @ 11:00 am and 1:30 pm. Go support your Iowa State Cyclones!!

All practices will take place at Cap Timm Field.

All practices are optional but they are good for getting back into baseball shape. There will be cage hitting, fielding, and bullpens at the field during these times. Feel free to come to all practices as well.

For those of you who don't know too much about our club, here's a little bit of information:
Anyone at ISU can play. The club was started in 2001 when ISU's NCAA division 1 team was disbanded. Last year the club played the fall league with approximately 130 players on 10 teams. The club also has a spring travel team that plays on the national level in the National Club Baseball Association.

Bring them with you filled out to the fall league meeting, fall league practice, or by the first fall league game. You cannot play until this had been turned in to a baseball club officer. There will also be a position form to be filled out at the meetings. We are looking forward to seeing you there.

Games this weekend against Minnesota State have been rescheduled to be played in Ames, IA at Cap Timm Field. Game times are Saturday at 1pm & 3pm and Sunday at 11am and 1pm. Be sure to check out the updated Schedule and Stats page for more info.

On Friday, September 29th, the Iowa State club baseball team will have a scrimmage with UNI (University of Northern Iowa). The game is a home game and will take place at Cap Timm Field at 4:30 pm. Come show your support for your Cyclone baseball team.

The Cyclones finished up their regular season with a final record of 4 - 8. Thanks to all of the players for a great season and fans for their support!

Ethan Schroeder took NCBA Player of the Week honors playing in 3 games against Minnesota State this weekend, going 6 for 12 with a double, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs scored. He led his team to victory in game two by driving in the winning run in the bottom of the 11th. Tyler Strub nabbed NCBA Pitcher of the Week. Strub was dominant on the mound against Minnesota State this weekend. He pitched a full 7 innings only allowing 6 hits and 2 runs, both of those being earned runs. Strub also had 11 strikeouts.

The Cyclones took two of the three conference games in their season opening series against a very good MSU Mankato team. The cyclones had a rough outing at the plate only batting .225 over the weekend after having a .331 batting average prior to the series. However the defensive effort and pitching was more a factor for the wins. See full results at the stats page.

The Cyclones play four games this weekend against MSU Mankato with the first two games taking place on Saturday April 3rd at 12 and 2:30 and the next two on Sunday April 4th at 11 and 1:30. The first three games of the series will be conference games while the last will be a non-conference all taking place on Cap Timm Field. All games are free to watch so come and support your Iowa State Cyclones!

The Iowa State Club Baseball team had a great showing in the NCBA's Spring Training Showcase held in Tampa, Florida. The Cyclones started off hot with two wins one against a great Indiana team. The first homerun of the season was also a grand slam in that game. The next day though had a rough battle with Lafayette and ended up losing in the end. Iowa also proved to be a formidable opponent catching the Cyclones off guard and taking the game easily. The last day was a split with a win against Moorhead and a close game with Clemson until the end when they pulled away. To see stats from the showcase visit the stats page.

The Iowa State Club Baseball team is going to venture southeast this spring break to take part in the NCBA's Spring Training Showcase held in Tampa, Florida. There the cyclones will participate in six games over the course of the week while enjoying some fun in the off time.
