ALERT: H1N1 Virus (Swine Flu)
is a concern for the ISU Fall Blood Drive
- Symptoms of influenza include
fever, coughing, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches, headaches,
chills and fatigue. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea are associated
with the H1N1 strain.
- If you are experiencing
these symptoms please seek medical attention and follow professional
advice.
- Influenza is spread mainly
through coughing and sneezing. It can also spread by touching infected
objects and then touching your nose or mouth.
- Everyone is at risk for
getting the flu regardless of how healthy you are, but adults with asthma,
diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease and other conditions requiring
regular medical attention are at risk for developing complications from
the flu need to get a flu shot every year.
- The CDC recommends preventing
the spread of infection through frequent and thorough hand washing,
hand sanitizing, disinfecting surfaces that are touched often frequently,
and avoiding close contact with those who are sick.
The ISU Blood Drive will provide hand
sanitizer and do everything in our power to minimize the spread of influenza.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE BLOOD DRIVE
OR VOLUNTEER AT THE BLOOD DRIVE IF YOU ARE FEELING SLIGHTLY ILL!
