Who We Are

The Celtic Dance Society is an organization whose members share an interest in Irish ceili and Scottish Country and other traditional dances and music of the British Isles. Weekly classes offer instruction in the style, steps, and formations used in traditional dances of Scotland and Ireland. At social events, members and newcomers have fun getting to know each other on and off the dance floor.

We participate in the activities of the RSCDS-Central Iowa Branch. Presentations to various groups demonstrate the pleasure of Celtic dancing and increase awareness of Celtic culture in Central Iowa.

During the Fall, one of our high points is the Twin Cities Failte Ball, which is particularly suited to beginning dancers. In the Spring, we look forward to the RSCDS-Central Iowa Branch Spring Ball, where dancers of all skill levels as well as observers come together to enjoy friendship, dancing, and live music.

The Celtic Dance Society is registered as a student organization with the ISU Student Organizations and Activities Center.

The Celtic Dance Society pages are hosted by ISU Student Organizations. Funded through GSB.
