1) What kind of weekly meetings or training or riding goes on during Spring semester?
The goal will to be have meetings at least once a month, and hopefully one evey other week. Spring brings on the road racing season, but it doesn't mean we're leaving every other rider out in the cold. It means that things will get hectic, as there will be some club members heading out of state for races, while some others sticking back and heading out on some spectacular group rides. All in all, its up to you how much time you want to put into the club - you'll get out what you put in, though.
2) I only have a mountain bike, do you guys ride the trials?
When the weather warms up and Seven Oaks opens their trails, we'll be taking some group trips for riding out there. Another option is Peterson Pits - just north of town. If you're itching for a ride, e-mail cycling@iastate.edu and ask anyone if they're up for it.
3) Do I have to buy the uniform and stuff?
There is no obligation what-so-ever to purchasing any of the cycling club merch. The jerseys are mandatory for racing but if you're wanting to do just one race I would be up for lending out a Medium of mine, and other members might do the same. ...and the socks just look cool!
4) I work during the weekends until the afternoon, are most cycling events on weekends?
Every event we plan is decided upon at club meetings, if there are particular times that you would be more able to make it than others, then we do everything we can to work with that. Again, try e-mailing the cycling@iastate.edu list and ask the club if anyone has interest in riding on a weekday evening.
If you'd like to become a club member, e-mail any of the club execs - we'll add you to the e-mail list so that you can get updates on what's happening. You can make your payment at the meetings, or make a check out to ISU Cycling Club and send it to
