First, it is a specialized fraternity limiting membership to those in a specialized field of professional collegiate study. Second, and equally important, the professional fraternity maintains a mutually exclusive membership in that field and organizes its group life specifically to promote professional competency and achievement within its field- as well as its social life.
Delta Sigma Pi members are men and women pursuing degrees- and careers- in the various disciplines of business administration.
Delta Sigma Pi: Just what does it do? Among other things, it:
- selects men and women business students who seek to enhance their classroom education through association with other students in their field. Prospective members receive an invitation to join and complete an orientation program.
- sponsors professional programs with tours and speakers in and from the business world; career fairs; business equipment exhibits; and personal development forums and workshops.
- conducts a model business in each chapter patterned after the best organizations in the business world, thus providing actual working experience for our members.
- promotes scholarship through the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key (awarded to the graduation senior in business administration ranking highest in his or her class); by peer study groups in chapters; and through grants and scholarships to qualified members.
As a matter of fact, Delta Sigma Pi:
