Article I. Name
1. The name of this organization is: Iowa State University Equestrian Club

Article II. Purpose
1. The purpose of this organization is:
a. To provide educational activities for equine enthusiasts
b. To promote the sport and discipline associated with competitive riding
c. To offer social activities to individuals interested in horses

Article III. Membership
1. Club Eligibility
a. Any student/faculty/staff that is currently enrolled/employed at Iowa State University
2. Club Membership. An active member will:
a. Pay dues
b. Attend meetings
c. Participate in one fundraising activity per semester
d. Attendance will be recorded at each meeting
An active member will have the opportunity to participate in:
a. Riding
b. Movie night
c. Bowling
d. Skiing/tubing
e. All other club activities
3. Team Membership. An active team member must:
a. Be a member of the ISU Equestrian Club
b. Be a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing (2.0 GPA or higher)
c. Pay the appropriate Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) dues
d. Participate in two fundraising activities per semester
i. Failure to participate will result in a $15.00 fine for each missed activity and suspension from club and team activities until the fine is paid.

Article IV. Organization
1. The Equestrian Club Officer Group will consist of the following:
a. President
b. Vice-President
c. Secretary
d. Treasurer
e. Fundraising Chairperson(s) (Two positions)
f. Public Relations Chairperson(s) (Two positions)
g. Webmaster
h. Hunt Seat Team Captain
i. Stock Seat Team Captain
j. Coach

Article V. Ethics Committee
1. Composition:
a. President
b. Vice-President
c. Three peer members elected by the individual in question
d. The advisor shall serve as an ex-officio (non-voting) member
2. Purpose.
a. Review alleged violations of club policies
b. Determine any appropriate action that may need to be taken

Article VI. Advisor
1. Advisor
a. Must be a faculty or full-time staff member of Iowa State University
b. Attend all club and officer group meetings

Article VII. Quorum
1. A quorum shall consist of two-thirds (2/3) of paid, active members in good standing

By-Laws for the Iowa State Equestrian Club

Article I. Financial Policy
1. Club Dues
a. Dues shall be $20.00 per semester
b. Semester dues must be paid with-in the first two meetings in-attendance
2. Team Dues
a. Dues shall be $20.00 per semester, in addition to club dues
b. IHSA dues are due prior to the first show of the semester:
i. $20.00 for one discipline
ii. $30.00 for both disciplines within IHSA
iii. IHSA dues are subject to change according to the current IHSA regulations
c. Show entry fees:
i. $15.00-$20.00 per class
d. Hotel and travel fees
i. $10.00 per weekend of specific show

Article II. Organization
1. Officers
a. President
i. Eligibility-Any active member of the club who is in good academic standing with the university.
ii. Tenure of the office will be for one year
iii. Duties
1. To preside over all club meetings
2. To reserve the room for club meetings
3. Shall delegate responsibilities as needed
4. Maintain officer and club e-mail lists
5. Will call any special meetings needed to resolve any conflicts
6. Shall up-date and revise ISU Equestrian Club’s Constitution and By-Laws as needed with the advice of the officer group and club.
7. Will create the agenda for the up-coming meeting following the officer’s meeting

b. Vice-President
i. i. Eligibility-Any active member of the club who is in good academic standing with the university.
ii. Tenure of the office will be for one year
iii. Duties
1. Serve as acting president during any absences of the president
2. Shall arrange club educational and social activities
