Hometown: Lone Tree, Iowa
E-mail Nick

Nick says: "I got my first horse at the age of 15. I knew nothing about them except colors and the fact that the majority of them loved apples. My first horse, and love of my life, is Drifter. He is a 5 year old Paint/QH/ Appy mix. My 3 favorite horses all put into one. Over the years Drifter and I learned from each other, and we continue to do so. I have only shown a few times, and that was at our County Fair, but wish I had the opportunity to do more. Since I am away at college and don't get to see him or ride him very much we aren't as in sync as we used to be, but I still love him."

E-mail Amanda

Amanda says: "I have loved horses my whole life and have been riding horses since I was 2 years old. My family was never into horses so I had to find people to teach me and earn money to go to camps to learn to ride. I bought my first horse when I was 14. I now own 2 horses, a 33 year old buckskin quarter horse gelding and an 11 year old sorrel and white paint mare. I share 6 other horses with family friends so I never have a shortage of horses to ride. I trail ride and compete in English and western pleasure, showmanship, horsemanship and competitive trail. I run barrels with the IRCA and I am also part of a mounted drill team. In the summers and on school holidays I train horses and judge horse shows. Horses are my life and I couldn't live without them or the people I've met through them!"
