Cyclone Crunch Cereal
A new cereal recently appeared on the shelves of local Fareway stores. Packaged in a red and gold box, Cyclone Crunch features a cartoon football player printed across the front and tastes similar to Captain Crunch.
Once Ben Jensen, junior in industrial engineering, heard about the new cereal, he made a special trip to Fareway to purchase a box of his own. He now has his Cyclone Crunch box proudly displayed on his windowsill.
“The cereal is good,” Jensen said.“But I think the box is the best part.”
Fans can enjoy a delicious breakfast while reading the ISU trivia and traditions printed on the back of the box. Plus, your sugar high might get you through your 8 a.m. lecture.
Hurry and buy a few boxes of your own soon, because this sweetened, multigrain cereal won’t be around forever. According to an Iowa State Daily interview with Ryan Grant, general manager of Cyclone Sports Properties and the creative mastermind behind this new product, only 30,000 boxes of Cyclone Crunch were produced and will only be sold while supplies last.
Personalized License Plates
Have you ever wondered where people get personalized ISU license plates? You can get one of your very own, complete with an original, catchy phrase like “CYSGRL” or “TAILGTR,” by filling out an application on the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Web site. Though sporting a cardinal and gold plate will cost you $50, it is a small price to pay to show your cyclone spirit. Plus, half of the money spent supports Iowa State University.
ISU Ringtones Imagine hearing the Iowa State Fight Song every time someone calls your phone. True ISU fans can proudly sing along with the most popular marching band tunes everytime they receive a phone call.
“I think that an Iowa State ringtone would be fun to have for an alarm.” said Gina Palomo, junior in animal science. “It would get me really pumped up on game days…it might be a little too much, though, if it played every time someone called.”

Coach Coins
Think U.S. presidents are the only celebrities to have their face embossed on coins? Since Sept. 15, ISU men’s basketball coach, Greg McDermott’s face has been plastered on his own coin. The front of the coin features an image of the Coach McDermott and the back features the new ISU logo. These coins retail for $15 and can be found at any Community State Bank location in the Des Moines metro area. McDermott’s coin is the second in a collector series, following the release of an ISU football coach, Gene Chizik, coin.
