Finding the Warren, Nuclear Radio
Finding the Warren
Traslation: Warren — a community of rabbits; To find one’s place in the world, whether that be among your friends, family, community, etc.
Reminiscent of: Powerpop/Rock/Indie... think Jack’s Mannequin, The Maine, (who they played with on November 12th) and Forever the Sickest Kids
The lineup: Joe Summers on vocals, Ryan Hubbard on bass/vocals, Nick Tillinghast on keyboard/tambourine/vocals, Tyler Kingkade on guitar, Kelly Kunzler on drums
Currently: Not only has Finding the Warren made an appearance at Iowa State’s very own VEISHEA 2008, but they played the Vans Warped Tour this past summer as well. With all of the members contributing to their witty lyrics and song titles, the band has a talent and uniqueness that has really come together over the years they’ve been together. And they’re doing all of this while still going to college—talk about successful time management! Look for their new album coming out soon, with a release party at House of Bricks in Des Moines on Feb. 7, 2009.
Hear them live: The Mars Café - Dec. 15 (Des Moines,) Bali Satay - Jan. 23, House of Bricks - Feb. 7 (Des Moines)
Songs to download: “Tonight Ends With a Bang”, “Two Left Feet One Right Night”, “Mean Girls Make Mean Boys”

Nuclear Radio
Translation: TOP SECRET; the name is not at liberty to be translated…bummer.
Reminiscent of: pop music, but not your average tunes on the radio. Not that they wouldn’t mind pairing up with the Pussycat Dolls in the near future…
Lineup: David Bryan Olson on drums/percussion, Phillip James Young on electric lead guitar/tambourine, Jordan Mayland on bass guitar/keyboard, T. Campbell DeSousa on vocals/electric guitar
Currently: Centered mostly in Iowa, Nuclear Rodeo’s wacky ensemble keeps it real while keeping it safe. With a passion for the McDonald’s yearly Monopoly-themed sweepstakes—one which they even dedicated a song to—the group of college students have big plans for the future. With an upcoming release of a full-length album, the band hopes to continue to grow, while still keeping those important things (like winning that Monopoly grand prize) close to their hearts.
Hear them live: The Vaudeville Mews - Dec. 16 (Des Moines)
Songs to download: "I Want to Die," "Summer Song," "I Will Survive (cover)"
