Everybody has one of those mornings. You channel your inner zombie after pulling an all-nighter writing that paper. Or better yet, the hangover from Hell has come after you, reminding you that alcohol is not, in fact, your new BFF. The last thing you want to do get up early and shower, let alone pick out a nice outfit. We get it: it’s college! But how does the world outside of our campus view you?
Studies have shown time and time again that beautiful people are treated better than those perceived as ordinary. Our own Katie Diederichs’ went undercover (p. 35) to test the theory for herself. We’ve all seen Tyra Banks cry after donning a fat suit for her show, so did the public treat Katie just as badly?
These experiments beg the question, does society need to change the way it thinks, or do we conform to its standards of beauty?
Oh, and don’t think we forgot that summer is right around the corner. (We’ve been dreaming of flip-flops and men in Speedos for months!) So, when you’re done reading our regular edition, be sure to flip over the magazine for our bonus summer section. You’ll find all you need to know about summer trends, events and Midwest road trips.

Co-Editors in Chief
P.S. I want to thank the Ethos staff for making my last issue as co-editor so amazing! I’ll miss all of the inappropriate topics that were discussed at meetings and somehow managed to sneak their way into the magazine.
Signing off,
Addie Knight
