Hey everyone. I just wanted to let you all know that Guitar Club will be performing in the Bali Satay House on Lincoln Way April 26, 2008. Our totally sweet show will be from 7pm to 9pm. There is a $5 cover charge at the door but, trust me, it will be worth it because we are totally sweet. The show will be comprised of mostly (if not only) Guitar Club members. The music will consist of covers and originals by our members. Due to the great diversity of members, the music styles will guaranteed to be diverse as well. So, come and check us out.

Well, here we are. It is another semester which means another Clubfest! Make sure to check us out at the Clubfest II which is today from 6pm to 9pm. There will likely be quite a few of us hanging out and playing guitar and waiting to tell you all about Guitar Club. So, check us out. You know you have nothing better to do. Other news: We've got a bunch of new Officers, and me, with like half of the positions. So, let me tell ya, we have some great new ideas to make this next semester of Guitar Club totally awesome. Anyway, the first meeting will be January 24. That's this Thursday. It will be in 1246 Howe Hall. This meeting consists of just basic introductions and deciding what we will be doing this semester. If you want to join, just show up to a meeting or Clubfest and let us know :)

Hey, all you crazy college kids *shakes fist for no reason*. The Welcome meeting was quite a success. Everyone introduced themselves, only to have their names forgotten by others mere moments later when the next person announced his or her name. I would like to announce that we will be collecting dues at the next meeting. This meeting will be held on the 13th, thursday as usual, and consist of pizza and Spinal Tap as entertainment. If you can pay your dues on that day, the pizza is free, otherwise, we might have to charge ya for the pizzas. Just how it goes. Nonetheless, the Spinal Tap is free :) Dues are $10 per semester or a mere $15 for a full year of Guitar Club-ness. From now on, we will be having the meetings at 1220 Hoover at 8pm Thursdays (same place, different time). Hoover is that building next to Howe, ya know the one that you can still mix up after going here for a 1+ year. OH! Almost forgot! If you haven't done so already, please email Me, Yuriy letting me know if you will be coming and eating pizza (and what kind is your absolute favorite) so we have an idea of how many pizzas we need to order. Okie dokie, bye bye.
September 6, 2007
The Welcome meeting today is in Howe 1312 at 8pm. The meetings after this will most likely be located in 1220 Hoover. Just a reminder: There are no "applications" to join this club. Just show up to the meetings and...that is about it. However, there are membership dues which will be discussed during the meetings. We don't bite. Anyway, hope to see lots of you there. Adios.

So, heres the dealio. The first meeting is on Thursday, September 6th (tomorrow). We still aren't sure which room it is going to be in. It will either be Howe 1246 or Howe 1312 at 8pm. We will let you know which room it is for sure when we find out. Otherwise, just head on over to Howe and wander around for a while. You will probably find us. This first meeting will be for introductions, and such. Also, come with ideas for future meetings. We have our own ideas, but we would love to hear what you all have come up with. We are having some issues with the email list so bear with us. If you have yet to receive an email from us, then you are not on the list so please email either Me, Nikk, or Pedro and we will be sure your name gets onto the list. Also, the pizza/movie night has been pushed back to next week due to....monkey wrenches in the perfect system that is Guitar Club. Anyway, I am out of stuff to rant about, so I bid you all adieu.

Welcome back to ISU everyone, and just plain welcome to all you new people. It is yet another year, which means, you guessed it. Clubfest! Clubfest will be occuring on Thursday, August 30th at the Lied Rec Center. It will go from 11am-4pm. Be sure to check out the Guitar Club booth where Nikk, our president, will be shredding on his guitar and informing the masses of the greatness of Guitar Club. I, unfortunately, cannot attend due to some pesky classes, but there will likely be other Guitar Club members stopping by to talk. Also, Guitar Club will be holding its first meeting of the year on Thursday, September 6th. The meeting will simply be a Welcome Meeting, complete with PIZZA,POP, and a MOVIE. I hope to see lots of you there.

I have to say, the M-Shop show on the 1st was awesome. Thanks to everyone that showed up. Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. Also, thanks to those who got up and played. 'Twas quite pleasing to my eardrums. Anyway, today we have our "Back to Basics" themed meeting where we will be teaching each other anything and everything we can. (Yea, I know I should probably put these things on here a little bit earlier) We will also be having a raffle for some pretty nice stuff. I could sure use some new strings. But then again, so could anyone.
February 26, 2007
Sadly, I haven't been at the last two meetings due to tests, but I hear there has been a lot of activity. We've finally decided on the T-Shirt Hoodie design. It looks pretty sweet. I am definitely getting one and if you want one, let Steph know before the next meeting. Apparently, the price is somewhat dependant upon how many people want one. I have done a small amount of work on the links page but hope to improve it in the near future so keep an eye open for that.
February 15, 2007
Greetings all!. I hope you had a good Valentine's Day. I just wanted to let everyone know that Guitar Club will be having a show at the M-Shop on April 1st. If you want to participate, contact Steph or the rest of the knowledgable executives. Oh, and if you happen to have a desire to listen to some good music that day, you might as well come on down to the M-Shop. You won't be disappointed. In addition to this, we plan to do a similar type of thing for VEISHA so that should be cool. Finally, wouldn't it be cool to have a Guitar Club T-shirt? Wouldn't it be even cooler to have an AWESOME-looking Guitar Club T-shirt? Well, I think you (yes, you) have the ability to design a pretty kick-butt shirt. For this reason, you should send all GC T-shirt ideas to Steph who could definitely use some input on the matter.

Hey everybody! This is your new webmaster typing. I am getting comfortable here in my webmastering chair. Anyway, I know it took me a bit to get the notes up here and, in the future, they will be appearing sooner. As you may have noticed, the content window is a bit bigger so you aren't just swallowed up by all the red. Not everything is updated but I will work on it. That's about all I have to say so adios.
DECEMBER 3, 2006
Last Thursday was the final GC meeting of the semester. Elections were held for several executive positions, as Brad will be graduating shortly and Dan is going to do an internship next semester and, sadly, won't be around. Yours Truly (Steph) will be the first woman Guitar Club president, and the webmaster position will be taken over by Yuriy. Other changes have been made and appear in the meeting notes. So, basically, next semester is going to be awesome and i look forward to seeing you all again!
OCTOBER 8, 2006
Wow, i haven't updated this thing in ages--sorry about that. I'm currently in Rome and not supposed to be the webmaster anymore, but there's been some complication in getting the privilege passed over to Dan, so here we are. Camping trip coming up soon, and possibly a cover for the amazing CD we made last year, at long last. Check out the meeting notes for further updates. Ciao!
MARCH 15, 2006
It's spring break, and i'm updating the site. 'Cause i love you that much. I put in our shirt order, so hopefully those will be here next week. I haven't made up a cover for our CD yet, but i will soon. Fun stuff is happening at meetings these days, so come join us! Check the MEETING NOTES for more updates.
FEB 18, 2006
Check out Cy! I gave him a little update--this will be the design for our new baseball-style tee shirts, so if you want one, let us know ASAP (and hopefully we won't get sued for ripping off the ISU logo). Let me know (sadamo@iastate.edu) if you have any suggestions as far as color or other details, like, say, if you hate the font i chose. Also, if you want a nickname printed on the back, let us know what you'd like that to be. Still no dates for the M-Shop show, but we may be getting somewhere as far as getting the CD finished.
JAN 27, 2006
Since our President and VP had better things to do last night, i, the webmistress, took the liberty of actually GETTING SOMETHING DONE at our fabulous meeting. We talked about--get this--guitars! Together!! Also, we completely blew off clubfest on Wednesday which is unfortunate, but i decided we're having pizza next week anyway, new members or no. So, from now on, guitar club will actually be usefull and even more fun than it's always been. Demonstrations and discussions will happen at every meeting. So come join us, learn from us, entertain us. It'll be great. And if not, i'll forcibly take over the presidency. :)
JAN 13, 2006
We've been bumped again--our meeting place will henceforth be Howe 1246. Winter Clubfest will be on Wednesday, January 29 from 7-9PM in the MU. Any members who would like to can come sit at the table with us. Potential new members can put their names on the email list. We've been encouraged to audition for Veishea Varieties vignette spots, so think about signing up. See NOTES for more info from our last meeting.
