Creed of Kappa Delta
May We, Sisters in Kappa Delta, strive each day to seek more earnestly the honorable and beautiful things.
May We each day through love of those within our circle, Learn to know and understand better those without our circle.
May the diamond shield that guards our love find us each day Truer, Wiser, More Faithful, and More Noble.

Purpose of Kappa Delta
The purpose of Kappa Delta Sorority is to promote true friendship among the college girls of our country by inculcating into their hearts and lives those principles of truth, of honor, of duty without which there can be no true friendship.
Kappa Delta is a national organization of women committed to a two-fold purpose: to provide a secure, stabilizing environment for personal growth to its collegiate members, and to provide a lifelong association of friendship and enrichment to its alumnae members.

Traditions
Founder's Day commemorates the founding of the sorority and is celebrated by chapters and alumnae associations in a variety of ways. The National President's message is always read, binding all Kappa Deltas together for this special observance.

The Charter Cup is a silver loving cup, purchased in 1912 in observance of Kappa Delta's 10th Anniversary of being granted a Charter by the Commonwealth of Virginia. So that every Kappa Delta may have a part in this purchase, each initiate was asked to contribute two feet of pennies. When a mile of pennies was collected (about $144), the cup was purchased. Originally used for chapter installations and White Rose Banquets, the cup was retired in 1976, due to its fragility, yet still travels to each convention to be used in the White Rose Toast.

The Loving Cup is presented to each new chapter by the National Sorority at the installation banquet. The chapter then keeps the cup for formal and ritualistic services. The Baby Cup passed to each newly chartered chapter at its installation by the previous "baby" chapter. This new chapter holds on to the cup, until it has the honor of presenting it to the next chartered chapter.

The Alpha Trunk was used by Alpha Chapter as a strongbox until 1912 and is know kept on permanent display at the National Headquarters. Kappa Delta's most famous artifact contains original minutes, chapter procedures, bylaws, and ritualistic items dating back to the founding.

White Rose Celebration is the brief time between Second Degree and Initiation when chapter members help new members experience the true meaning of sisterhood.
