ISUMCC Leadership Test Requirements
			     (updated 29 Aug 2005)


PART 1: BASICS

_____Put on a club owned harness

_____Put on a club owned helmet

_____Show a beginner how to put on a harness and helmet


PART 2: KNOTS

_____ Tie all members of the figure eight family in webbing (figure eight, on a
      bight, follow through)

_____ Tie all members of the overhand family in webbing (overhand, on in a
      bight, water knot)

_____ Tie a girth hitch

_____ Tie a clove hitch

_____ All knots must be tied correctly and properly dressed.


PART 3: BELAYING

_____ Pass the Leid climbing wall belay certification


PART 4: RAPPELLING

_____ Use a "slot type" belay device (ie: ATC) and arrange a rappel for
      yourself over a sharp edge

_____ Show a beginner how to rappel using the technique above.

_____ Demonstrate a firemen's backup


PART 5: ANCHORS

_____ Set a SERIES of acceptable anchor systems and explain why each is
      acceptable.


*** All the above MUST be witnessed and approved by two current trip leaders.
    Upon passing the above requirements and with approval of the exec, the
    candidate is placed on a temporary status for their first lead trip. The
    conduct, judgment, and personality of the new leader will be re-evaluated
    by the cabinet requiring an 80% vote to keep him/her as a trip leader.
    Feedback from club members will be taken into consideration. ***
