So I realize that it's almost Monday again, and I have yet to send out the minutes. Sorry about that, I should be getting the minutes out to everybody by Tuesday night each week from now on. Anyhoo, for those of you who were at the meeting last Monday, it was awesome seeing you all again! For those of you who missed it, we missed seeing you and hope to see you this Monday! Here's what we did/went over last Monday... - During the Exec meeting, we reviewed our Constitution and signed the exec sheet - During the Regular meeting at 8pm in Gilman 1810 1. Introductions of everyone 2. What do we do in ISUMCC? a. We have the gear, experience, knowledge and trips for everyone of every skill 3. There's a club calendar on Google calendar that you can download to find out trip dates and club mtg topics 4. Every thursday, Bob is going to some climbing pillars just south of Stratford. If you're interested, you can catch a ride with him if you chip in for gas 5. Club Dues a. $45/ year or $25/ semester b. Average weekend trips cost $30-40 c. Longer trips cost around $60-70 d. Deposit a nonrefundable $10-15 for each trip you sign up for, just so we know for sure which vehicle(s) to get e. If you're unsure about joining, you are more than welcome to sign up for a weekend trip to try us out and not pay club dues for the semester f. On the trip, we provide the gear, knowledge and safety. We are not guides, so you'll help carry gear and learn about setting up and safety as you go. It's an awesome learning experience, and every trip has its own adventures that always promise laughs g. We have quite a bit of gear, but we're always limited on the amount of harnesses and we don't have any shoes. however, it is easy to rent these from Outdoor Rec or as you make friends in the Club, a lot of us usually have some extras we don't mind people borrowing. 6. Every Wednesday a bunch of us meet at Wal-Nut climbing gym around 7pm to get some climbing in a. It's $8 for a day pass, or $60 for a ten day pass b. Usually there will be an e-mail sent out if someone needs a ride 7. There's always Lied Rec to climb as well 8. If you join the club, there's perks! we have a few discounts! a. 10% off climbing gear at Jax b. Varying discounts up to 70% off all merchandise at http://backcountry.com . If anyone wants to drive on trips, please take the ISU 15 passenger van training! It makes life a lot easier when planning a trip when there's a lot of drivers. a. Available Training dates are: September 8, October 19, November 12, December 23 from 6 to 8pm b. If you're interested call 294-1657 10. Interested in being a trip leader? The trip leader gets to go on the trip for free, so it's worth it! You don't have to be the next Chris Sharma to lead, but you do have to know the safety rules. it can be done in a semester if you go climbing a lot! Let one of the leaders know if you're interested 11. Blue Mounds is coming up the 4th through the 7th (Labor Day Weekend). If you signed up, please bring the nonrefundable deposit of $15 to Monday's meeting 12. Also for everyone coming to the next meeting, please bring your insurance information so you can sign safety waivers and also bring your club dues. - So in a few words, we went over a ton of information last week and also looked at some pictures from the summer. There were trips to Devil's Tower, WY, Spearfish Canyon, SD, Maroon Bells, CO, Garden of the Gods, CO, Mount Evans, CO, Devil's Lake, WI, Taylor's fFlls, MN. - This Monday we're going over Backcountry Cooking!
