from the everest to the mesmerizing palaces, from the melodious folklore to the brave gurkhas, the birthplace of lord buddha and many more, nepalese students' association at Iowa State University (nsa@isu) proudly represents not only the himalayan republic – 'the shangri-la' – nepal – a country of amazing extremes, an epitome of nature, culture and tradition but also the diversified unity of its representative citizens as faculties, students and families living in Ames, Iowa.
though a small but growing community at isu, nsa has been an active participant and an appreciated organization in events such as international week, food festivals, cultural displays, fashion shows, international friendship fairs and so on. nsa has been working with isc, ywca, international friendship fair (iff) and other student organizations in various events. nsa is aimed to serve the nepalese community at isu and to the prospective and new nepalese students joining isu. not only that, nsa works toward proliferating its culture, arts, architecture and traditions to the american and other international communities at isu and worldwide. in every calendar month nsa proudly celebrates traditional nepalese festivals to remark native heritage and cultures. by all means we appreciate the colorful festivities that provide us and our well-wishers a taste of home away from home at isu.
