Lower Shelter

11am to 10pm - stop in when you can make it!

Rain or Shine! - we will tarp the shelter openings to keep out the weather

**This is a Substance Free Event**

What to Bring:

-meat (or veggies) to grille for yourself
-an item to share with everyone
-beverage of choice (non-alcoholic)
-tarot cards, footballs, frisbee, etc
-shoes for hiking
-warm clothes (for when you are not next to the roaring fire)

What will be provided:

-a cheery fire
-good company
-a beautiful greening forest to play in

Directions:

**Note: We are at the Lower Shelter this year!**

Scenic Route
-Head West out of Ames on Hwy 30 (12 miles)
-at the first stop in Boone, turn South (left) (1 mile)
-at the T-intersection, turn West (right) (follow the pavement)
-the road will weave its way south into the park (2 miles)
-about 3/4 mi. in the park, the shelter will be on your left and parking on your right

Other Route
-Head West out of Ames on Hwy 30 (10 miles)
-turn South (left) on Hwy 17 (3 miles)
-turn West (right) on 250th St (3 miles)
-turn South (left) on P Ave (0.5 miles)
-turn West (right) on 255th St
-follow the curve and the shelter will be on your right and parking on your left
