NEWS LAST MEETING OF THE YEAR - FOOD AND A NEW PRESIDENT! Wednesday night was our last meeting of the year, and we took the occassion to eat some pie, cheesecake, and Chinese food before electing our new president, Emily Tarbox! Emily was coronated with the traditional golden paint brush. Congratulations to Emily and your new Vice President, Fumi Ikeshima! If anyone would like to be the new treasurer, that is one of those positions we have to fill in order to remain a club, so think about it :-)
The few members who aren't working desperately on projects enjoying our last meeting The ceremonious transfer of the golden brush, and Emily! PAINTERS HELP WITH MURAL PROJECT ![]() Members of PA joined many BPMI majors in completing a mural for Youth and Shelter Services on 5th and Kellog in Ames April 14. The mural, designed and implemented under the guidance of Dean Biecheler and Barb Walton, was created as part of the VEISHEA Service Day activities (originally scheduled for the end of March). After several rain and weather delays, the mural was completed in 11 hours and enjoyed coverage by local news crews. Fumi and Lee pose in front of the almost-finished mural. PA MEMBER RECOGNIZED FOR BEAUTIFUL WORK IN FOCUS SHOW Fumi Ikeshima was featured in an article on the ISU website for her innovative and lovely chair created as a FOCUS project. Check out the article and see what others had to say about this unique piece and see some photos. DOG PAINTINGS LOOK GREAT. . . EXCEPT. . . At our previous meeting, we put together the pieces for our collaborative dog project, and they look wonderful! It was really exciting to see them come together and how everyone saw the images differently. However, we are still missing a few parts of the whole. :-( I know people are busy, but if you see that one of these grey squares is your painting, please let me know soon how you are doing with the project. There is one person that I no longer have contact information for, because their ISU account is no longer active and the phone number I have is wrong, so hopefully you all look at this website and will contact me soon. Also, we had the exciting experience of finding that several of us doubled up on squares. I was hoping that if we had in-progress meetings, we could make sure that didn't happen, but not everyone got back to me when I sent out that e-mail so we had a few surprises. :-) I have a sneaking suspicion that it was my fault in the first place for people getting confused, so I apologize and we'll come up with something to fix the problem, or maybe flip a coin, or something. At any rate, here they are!
