Individuals wanting to join the ISU chapter of Phi Alpha Theta eligibility requirements are as follows: 1. Undergraduate Students: Completion of twelve (12) or more hours of history courses. 2. Grade point average in all history courses of not less than 3.1 3. Cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 4. Graduate students: completion of twelve (12) or more hours towards M.A. in history 5. Grade point average in all history courses of not less than 3.5 6. Payment of membership fee and dues to be set by the national council ($40) and the chapter ($10/year). 7. Faculty: Faculty are strongly encouraged to join. Faculty members above the rank of Instructor who teach history automatically qualify, pay the same induction fee, and receive the same membership privileges. 8. New member will submit a completed and signed application and membership fees. 9. New member will show a copy of his or her current transcript to the Faculty Advisor or Academic Advisor (Prof. Charles Dobbs) who will initial the application as meeting the requirements. 10. Membership is not limited to history majors. 11. Alumni may be members through chapter requirements but may not serve as officers. Initiation of new members will be conducted at the annual banquet.
