Welcome to the Cyclone Racquetball Project Factory!

The Iowa State University Racquetball Club is currently working on a number of projects. Feel free to express any opinions on any of our current projects by filling out the form below. Also, if you have an idea for the club to take on (any program, policy, strategy), you can also fill out the form below and we will look into it :)

The first is a tournament computer program. The goal for this program is easily manage participants, create draws, and allow the tournament director to more effectively run the event with fewer complications. I am creating many of the necessarily windows forms in Visual Studio .NET in C# with an SQL framework. I've done a lot of the planning for this project, including a solid (Entity-Relationship Diagram) and the needed Business Rules for the project. Estimated Time of Completion: August 2007

The next project is to develop a Challenge Ladder Policy. We want a policy that will be generate ladder play and increase the overall excitement and interest of the club. We were thinking a points based system that will give points based partially on participation of the ladder. Estimated Completion: September 2007

Upon completion of the Challenge Ladder Policy, we plan on developing a computer program to manage the ladder and calculate ladder scoring. This program will be made in Visual Studio .NET C# and will simply be developed to create and manage the ISU Racquetball Club Challenge Ladder. Estimated Completion: Early September 2007

We are also looking for a better recruitment strategy. The club is increasingly getting more money from GSB and we would love to be able to share this with more racquetball players. Our number one priority is to recruit more female athletes. We have been able to fill a full men's team two years in a row and popularity is increasing. What has not increased is our girls participation. Any ideas on how to fix this??

Lastly, we are looking for sponsors to help us fund our tournaments. Possible ideas we have come up with so far (and have shown some promise) are Kum & Go, Musco, and Pioneer. If anybody has any contacts with other companies have them contact Casey. Our first tournament is a charity tournament where we will be giving 50% gross income to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure. In 2006 we donated nearly $500 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and in 2007 we hope to get that number closer to $1,000 with more entrants and sponsorships.
