Philanthropy Projects

Senior Citizen’s Prom

The Sigma Alpha, Delta Chapter stays busy doing many philanthropy projects throughout the year. Our largest project is a Senior Citizen’s Prom held at the Heartland Area Senior Services in Ames.  A local DJ donated his services for the evening.  This year’s theme was Hawaiian, which meant there was a lot of pineapple and flowers to go around.  Members worked hard organizing this fun-filled evening which included games, dancing, music, and snacks.  Attendees enjoyed the fun filled night along with the members.

VEISHEA 2004 kicked off with the Dew the Rec on April 16.  Sigma Alpha sisters volunteered to grill hotdogs, hamburgers, and pork chops for people standing in line for Dew the Rec show. The Dew the Rec is a comedy show featured at the campus recreation center. Sisters enjoyed grilling as well as selling the food for the VEISHEA committee.
