Xi Sigma Pi is the National Forestry Honor Society established in 1908 at the University of Washington. Xi Sigma Pi, ISU’s Alpha Gamma Chapter, emphasizes academic achievement and success in the forestry profession through service activities, fundraisers, and education. Forestry majors are selected based on a minimum GPA of 3.0 with 60 or more credits, 15 credits of which are forestry course work. We strive to maintain a professional image through our college and future careers.

Membership Qualifications Remain in good academic standing
Membership Restrictions Invitation only based on following academic criteria: • Enrolled in forestry curriculum. • Have completed at least 15 credits of forestry/natural resource management (generally met by the forestry fall series). • ISU cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better, based on a minimum of 30 completed ISU credits.

Description of Special Events

Maple Syrup Days is our main fundraising event where we have breakfast at the Iowa arboretum and display/teach maple syrup distillation.
