Iowa Trumpeter Swan Partners Banquet ~ March 25, 2000

Hosted by the ISU Trumpeter Swan Restoration Committee

The first Trumpeter Swan Partners Banquet was a huge success! Funds were raised to support the next issue of the newsletter, "Trumpeting the Cause" and swan partners around the state had a chance to meet one another! The committee is considering making this an annual event, so please contact us if you have any suggestions!

The t-shirt table was also a popular destination.

Students from Linda Scheuermann's Roland-Story 4th grade class helped
with the banquet by distributing door prizes and mingling with the crowd...

...and what a crowd! Nearly 100 people turned out for the banquet!

Resources gave an overview of the restor-
ation program in Iowa. Larry Gnewikow, of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, was the keynote speaker. He discussed the history of Trumpeter Swan Restoration in the midwest. Many of the states surrounding Iowa also have Trumpeter Swan Restoration Projects.
