The Cyclone Classic is held each year at the beginning of October at the New Pioneer Gun Club. While the club hosts many other schools for the competition, Iowa State Shooters are encouraged to participate and work at the shoot. The program for the Cyclone Classic includes American skeet, doubles skeet, American trap, doubles trap, sporting clays, and five stand.

The ISU Trap & Skeet club also hosts the Spring Fling at the beginning of April. All shooters and their families are welcome to participate. The Spring Fling is a sporting clays and five stand shoot.
