The Iowa State VSMART Chapter Welcomes You!
|
|
Iowa State has been trying to address the shortage of food animal veterinarians for over 5 years. Our
chapter alone has talked to over 10,000 people, addressing the shortage issue and encouraging students
to consider an opportunity in food animal practice.
|
Mission Statement
|
|
*To address the need for mixed and food animal veterinarians in Iowa.
*To recruit, guide, and mentor students towards pursuing a career in veterinary medicine with emphasis
on agriculture and animal production.
*To inform youth of the rewards in pursuing a career in mixed animal veterinary medicine through positive
exposure to mentors with whom they can relate.
*To inspire local youth to remain in their home state by exposing them to career opportunities that will
allow them to be financially and professionally successful without the need to migrate to urban areas.
