About
Big Sis Lil Sis is a program that works to ensure a smooth transition between high school and college for Iowa State's incoming freshmen women. This is a unique program in that each new freshman majoring in Science or Engineering has the opportunity to be paired with an older student, majoring in the same field.
Our Goal
Establish friendships where the lil sis feels comfortable enough to look to their big sis for information on coursework, class selections, internships/career choices, activities on campus, or anything else to assist them in the transition to college.
There are organized Big Sis Lil Sis activities (Bowling, Snow tubing, Lunches at the Tearoom, etc.) throughout the year to provide opportunities for each pair to get know one another better. Contact the Big Sis Lil Sis Co-chairs, Kari Knutson and Cassie Cope, by emailing bigsis-lilsis@iastate.edu for more information on signing up for the program or if you have any questions.
