GSH acts as the graduate student organization (GSO) for the history department. The mission of GSH is to create a positive environment for graduate history students to excel in their teaching as well as research responsibilities. In order to meet this goal, GSH holds brown bag lunches, seminars,and invite speakers relevant to graduate student interests.

Allowed Members All admitted graduate students in history are eligible for membership.
Allowed Officers President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Faculty Liason, GPSS Representative
Membership Qualifications Any graduate student in the history department is welcome.
Membership Restrictions None.
Elections/Selection Elections occur each spring.
Meetings Meetings and/or events are held usually once a month

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Each semester GSH holds one general meeting, and hosts 2-3 monthly dinners with faculty members. GSH also hosts various social events throughout the year.

Description of Special Events

Each semester GSH hosts a panel or roundtable event. Every spring GSH participates in planning the History Department End of Year Banquet. In spring 2016, GSH will host its first annual speaker event.
