Description

Students will have the opportunity to be involved in an annual event, The Conference, that will be designed and implemented by Event Management students for the ISU and Ames communities. The Conference's inaugural event was in November 2019 and was centered on all aspects of innovation and creativity, which included opening remarks from President Wendy Wintersteen, a pitch competition with over $1,000 in prizes, break out sessions, and a keynote presentation for over 150 attendees.

Allowed Officers Eligible for the EVENT 486 course and selected by AESHM faculty and current officers.
Membership Qualifications Students pursuing membership will fill out an application by the designated deadline in the spring term. Students will be selected to interview in the spring term and members and officers will be selected by AESHM faculty and will be enrolled in the EVENT 486 course.
Membership Restrictions Students must be selected through an application process for involvement in the student organization.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

The Conference will implement a campus and community-wide conference event every fall semester.

Description of Special Events

The Conference is meant to be an event for the ISU Community that offers community and a variety of resources and opportunities for students.
