Welcome to Mock Trial!
Our teams of faux attorneys and witnesses compete in courtrooms across the nation in a legal battle of who can best represent their client. In doing so, Mock Trial provides students with a unique opportunity to explore the exciting world of law. Whether you love arguing your case to the very end or portraying a character to tell a story, Mock Trial is the right place for you.
Through Mock Trial, you'll be able to:
- Engage in mock trial competitions, where you'll act as attorneys or witnesses, arguing both sides of a fictitious legal case;
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the legal system, courtroom procedures, and the roles of attorneys, witnesses, and judges;
- Sharpen your critical thinking and analytical skills as you work through complex cases, legal arguments, and evidence;
- Improve your public speaking and communication skills by participating in simulated trials and debates; and
- Collaborate with fellow members to prepare and present cases effectively, emphasizing teamwork and cooperation.
Mock Trial is open to students from all backgrounds and levels of experience. While having some prior knowledge of Mock Trial is recommended, you are welcome to join even if you've never been inside a courtroom before.
We hope to see you soon!
