Service & Volunteerism


Kappa Kappa Psi/Tau Beta Sigma Joint is a nationally recognized honorary service organization whose sole purpose is to serve the ISU band programs through service projects. fundraisers, social events, and other projects as needed.

Allowed Members Members of Iowa State Bands
Allowed Officers Must be corresponding officer in separate organization
Membership Qualifications Officers and active members must fulfill all requirements set forth by the constitution. New members are invited to join by a bid process typically held near the end of the Fall semester.
Membership Restrictions Any potential or active member should be in a band at Iowa State in addition to fulfilling all the requirements set by the constitution.
Elections/Selection Elections are held by each separate chapter near the end of the Spring semester.
Meetings Meetings are typically held on Wednesday evenings.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Regular meetings will consist of the discussion of a variety of the business the organization does, including fundraisers, service projects, social gatherings, etc.

Description of Special Events

Band Banquet: Banquet held every year to commemorate the end of the marching band season.
Band Picnic: Picnic held each spring to allow members of ISU bands to relax before finals week.
