AFLEC Career Fair Preparation Workshop 2025
The Africa Learning & Evolving Community (AFLEC) at Iowa State University hosted a highly engaging Career Fair Preparation Workshop on Sunday, September 7th, 2025 at the SUV Community Center. The session was organized to equip students with the right tools, mindset, and confidence to make the most of the upcoming university-wide Career Fair.
The event featured a special guest speaker, Ife Adegboye, Assistant Director of Graduate Business Career Services, who delivered a practical and inspiring talk on “Maximizing the Career Fair: Strategies for Effective Preparation and Networking.” Her insights on resume readiness, effective networking, and post-fair follow-up resonated deeply with attendees.
Panel Discussion: Learning from Internship Experiences
Following the keynote session, the workshop featured a student panel discussion where AFLEC members who recently completed summer internships shared their personal experiences from preparing and applying for positions to navigating professional environments and overcoming challenges. The panelists included;
