Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

We are fighting to push ISU to commit to 100% clean energy by 2030, full carbon neutrality as soon as possible, and permanent divestment from fossil fuel interests. Meeting every Wednesday 7-8 pm in Pearson 2157, we focus on empowering the youth and building a student movement made of a coalition of clubs across campus, faculty, and Ames community members to promote sustainability here at Iowa State! Our visibility events focus on educating students on the climate crisis, but more importantly on the many possible ways to solve the issue. The Corps also plans various social events with fellow environmentally focused organizations on campus and collaborates together on issues that specifically affect the university.

Description of Special Events

Fridays For Future Strikes - Every Friday of Fall 2022, we are doing nonviolent, peaceful protests in front of Beardshear Hall from 10:30-1:10 pm to call attention to the climate crisis and call on the university to commit to urgent climate action! We oppose the current $16 million boiler transition that dooms us to stay dependent on fossil fuels for the next several decades. ISU must invest in its students' future and promote a clean, equitable future for all!
