Music & Performing Arts

GENRE (Gathering Everyone Nearby to Raucously Entertain) is the ultimate music club at ISU. We start out by introducing you to some of the amazing musicians we have on campus, we group you up based on what kind of music you would like to explore and create, and then give any band that is formed a chance to play live in various venues around ISU and Ames. We also offer workshops, practice spaces, jams, and fun general meetings throughout the semester. Any instrument or type of music is accepted into our community of musicians so if you play banjo, trumpet, electronic house music, upright jazz bass, 8 string guitar, or even "Creed-style" vocals; GENRE has a place for you.
