Robot in 3 Days (Ri3D) at Iowa State is a low commitment club featuring build and training days during the fall semester and a 3-Day Build event in the beginning of January. This club stems from FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), a competition where high schoolers build a robot in around 2 months to fulfill certain tasks based on the "game" for that year. The goal of Ri3D is to create the robot that would normally take 2 months, and design, code, wire, and build in 3 days to post onto social media platforms for high school FRC teams to use as inspiration for their own robot. The goal of Ri3D is not only to educate high school students, but to give university students an opportunity to be involved in FIRST Robotics past high school.
