Sports & Recreation

The Iowa State University Quidditch Club is an organization that is meant to promote, organize, and play the sport of Quidditch (also referred to as Muggle Quidditch or Ground Quidditch) on the campus of Iowa State University. Our goal is to introduce students to this growing sport, using the rules and guidelines set forth by the International Quidditch Association. The Club will hold scrimmages and establish an Active Membership within the International Quidditch Association to participate in Quidditch tournaments.

The quidditch club attends multiple large tournaments in the midwest, including the yearly Midwest Regional Championship. Each year the goal is to qualify for the US National Cup.

Description of Special Events

Tournaments involve anywhere between 5-30 teams, both USQ official and unofficial, playing in a grueling 1-2 day competition for the championship. Several of the USQ official teams that the ISU quidditch club often faces include Minnesota Quidditch, TC Frost (Twin Cities), Mizzou Quidditch (University of Missouri), Kansas Quidditch, and the Illinois State Firebirds.
