The purpose of the Recreation Services Student Advisory Board at ISU is to represent the interest and needs of the students and university community. The primary function of the Board is to act in the best interest of and advise the Recreation Services Department regarding strategic directions, operational and programmatic issues. The Board is not a governing (decision-making) organization. Specific roles of the Board are but not limited to: 1. Make recommendations to the Recreation Services Director on departmental and program issues; 2. Act as a channel between the student employees and the appropriate administrator; 3. Assist with development and administration of the all student employee orientation training each fall semester; 4. Assist with the development of the spring student employee / club honors awards social; 5. Promote external programs as seen to fit with the best interest of the department; 6. Promote educational development of fellow students; 7. Serve as an appeal board for policy violations for the department and make recommendations for action to the Director of Recreation Services for Outdoor Rec, Facility Operations and Wellness and Fitness Programs. Intramurals and Sport Club will maintain their independent student organizations which will hear their program appeals; 8. Review program(s) handbook and policies within the department; 9. Act as a sounding board for current and relevant recreational topics.
