The Equestrian Hunt Team is focused on teaching the skill of Hunt (english) style horseback riding and allowing its members to grow and compete in Intercollegiate Horse Show Association with surrounding schools. The purpose of this organization is to promote the sport and discipline associated with competitive English riding. Individuals who have a passion for horses and want to learn the sport are welcome!

Membership Qualifications Need a passion for horses and an interest in learning how to horseback ride hunter seat/english style. Riders must try out to participate in lessons and competitions. Must have IHSA membership and pay show fees to compete.
Membership Restrictions None
Elections/Selection Elections occur once a school year within the first two weeks of April, It is done by the clubs majority vote. Qualification and time availability will be taken into consideration.
Meetings We will meet once per month on Tuesdays at 7pm. These meetings will not last longer than an hour. If more meetings are needed they will be announced in a timely manner.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Our meetings will take place once per month on Tuesday evenings. During these times we will discuss upcoming events and deliver new information. Weekly riding lessons will be provided to members who try out and are selected for the lesson roster. There will be opportunities to try out once per semester. Monthly competitions depending on the IHSA Zone 7 Region 4 schedule.

Description of Special Events

IHSA Hunt Shows: We will travel to other colleges/universities that are in out region and zone to compete. There we will stay in a hotel. Each individual will be entered into 1 to 4 classes for each show depending on riding level and class availability.
