The Student Chapter of the American Association of Veterinary Parasitologists (SCAAVP) is an organization established to provide advanced experiences in veterinary parasitology to students at Iowa State University, to recruit talented, highly motivated veterinary students to the discipline of veterinary parasitology, and to allow students interested in veterinary parasitology to network more effectively with those active in the field and to assist faculty looking for graduate students interested in a career in parasitology. This organization also hopse to foster a network of contacts, community, and support among all veterinarians and scientists in order to advance the progress and knowledge of veterinary parasitology.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Meetings will be held approximately two-three times a semester during the Veterinary Medicine student lunch hour. Lunch may or may not be provided at these meetings. Meetings will be discussions and topics on furthering veterinary parasitology knowledge and interest

Wet labs and activities will be focused on providing experiences in veterinary parasitology testing and diagnostics
