Mortar Board is a national honor society that recognizes college seniors for excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, and service. Iowa State University’s Torch Chapter is a chapter of Mortar Board, Inc.

Constitution / Tier

||Must be at least a junior and maintain a GPA of in the upper 35% (3.22 or higher this past year).

||Elections are held at initiation once a year in the spring.

|Regular meetings take place once a month and discuss the business of the society.

|Reading Initiative-- Northcrest Retirement Community.
Members meet with residents of the Retirement Community and engage in a variety of volunteer activities
|Reggie's sleep out
Members participate in this event to raise awareness and funds for homelessness in the greater Des Moines area.
|Iowa State Leadership Experience (ISLE)
To fulfill the leadership portion of Mortar Board’s three pillars, members have the opportunity to volunteer with Iowa State Leadership Experience (ISLE), a leadership conference held at ISU.
