Description

The Music Student Representative Council serves as an active liaison between music students and faculty. The Council plans activities throughout the year for students and faculty. They also work with other Music Department clubs to serve the department. Members of the council also represent the music department on the LAS Council and the ISU Performing Arts Council.

Membership Qualifications Must Meet the Following: Good standing with the university; Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0, or higher, during semester of election/appointment and semesters during term of office; Must be enrolled for six or more credits as an undergraduate student and four or more credits as a graduate student unless fewer credits are required for that term for graduation.

Elections/Selection Two At-Large Representatives (Elected by complete music major body) and Three Divisional Representatives (One elected from the vocal division, the brass/woodwind/percussion division, and the string/keyboard division.)
Meetings Meetings are held twice a month.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Meetings held once a month will entail discussion of recommendations and question brought to the representatives by students and compare notes regarding service on various departmental committees.

Description of Special Events

Social events are occasionally held for music major students and music faculty/staff following some general recitals.
