Description
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded January 16, 1920 on the campus of Howard University (Washington, D.C.) by five young and ambitious women based on four important principles needed in every woman's life: finer womanhood, scholarship, sisterly love, an service. Since its founding, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority has accumulated a number of firsts. Zeta Phi Beta was the first greek-letter organization to have chartered a chapter in Africa, first to have adult and youth auxiliary groups, first to have all operations organized at a national headquarters, and first to be constitutionally bound to a brother fraternity (Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.).
