Description

The Beginning Farmers Network was created to provide a peer group for students who plan to enter into farming. It is a network because we maintain contact with members who are farming through our annual conference the first Saturday in February. This conference allows beginning farmers the opportunity to sharpen their skills through networking as well as learn from excellent speakers. Monthly meeting include an informative speaker with relevance to real world production agriculture.

Allowed Members All those interested. Not agricultural specific.
Allowed Officers As appointed by club members at the election meeting. Must be in good standing with the university and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
Membership Qualifications Member of the beginning farmers network.
Membership Restrictions None
Elections/Selection Elections are held the November monthly meeting. Offices are appointed by on floor nominations and voted on by members at the November meeting.
Meetings First Tuesday of every month at 6:30 pm in 2050 Agronomy Hall.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Monthly meetings are held during the school year on the first Tuesday of every month.

Description of Special Events

- An industry tour is conducted every semester and is determined by interest from members.
- Annual "Farmers Networking Conference" will be held first Saturday in February.
Freshman/Transfer BBQ in the Fall semester. This is geared towards recruitment of new members.
