The Asian Student Union (ASU) at Iowa State University is dedicated to building an inclusive, welcoming community where students of all backgrounds can connect, grow, and celebrate Asian cultures. Our mission is to foster appreciation and awareness of the diverse traditions, customs, and experiences across Asia while creating a supportive space for friendship, leadership, and personal growth. Through cultural showcases like InnovAsian, social gatherings, professional networking, and collaborative events, we strive to highlight the beauty of our differences and bring people together. Whether Asian or non-Asian, every student is encouraged to join with an open mind, make meaningful connections, and feel at home within our community.

Anyone is able to join ASU! Come attend meetings, hang out with members, get involved at events, and help spread the word about Asian American diversity and culture! |

| Elections/Selection |
Elections will occur at the last general meeting of each semester. Generally each cabinet position has a year-long term, however if a cabinet member is graduating or under other circumstances there will be an election at the end of the Fall semester to fill the position. |
| Meetings |
The first meeting of the 2025 - 2026 academic year will be on Friday, September 19th, at the SIC from 6:30 - 7:30! After that, we will have bi-weekly meetings every Thursday! Follow us on Instagram @asu_iastate for more info and updates! |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| ASU meets bi-weekly to bring our members together for various events, from fun social events, professional events, cultural celebrations, and more! Our goal through these events is to build and foster a strong community at Iowa State University with Asian identity, culture, and appreciation as the foundation of our connection between members. We often also partner with Iowa State University's Vietnamese Student Association, fostering an even larger and strong community between Asian students and non-Asian students on campus! |

The InnovAsian: APIDA Culture Show is a vibrant celebration of Asia, featuring both traditional and modern performances, as well as a fashion show to highlight the different cultures. This event brings together communities to experience the beauty of Asian heritage, fostering appreciation and understanding of its traditions, history, and contemporary contributions. |
