Mountaineering and Climbing Club
The Iowa State University Mountaineering and Climbing Club is a student-run, non-profit organization designed to provide the ISU community with an affordable means to learn about and experience the outdoors, through class room and hands-on instruction in backpacking, rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering. It is our goal to provide a safe learning environment for all those interested in learning these skills, and to help provide the equipment necessary.
News & Announcements
Our meetings for Spring 2019 are Mondays at 8:00 pm in Beyer 1308 (unless you see exceptions listed here). This is a classroom right beside the room we used in fall 2018. Non-students can get in without having to pay Rec fees by telling them at the desk that you're going to the club meeting for the Mountaineering & Climbing Club.
Beginners are always welcome!
Other Announcements & Resources
Subscribe to our main email list to get the latest event announcements and for discussions with other people in the club.
We might also sometimes use the student org email list for this club, so also click the "Subscribe" button under the banner image at the top of this page! Doing so will also send you an email any time we add items to News & Announcements here.
Alumni interested in periodic updates on the club's activities can add a permanent email to this list.
We always need more drivers. Must be 18 years old, and certification is quick and easy to complete.
If you're at least 20 years old and don't have a terrible driving record, take the large passenger van training class and test. The test is free, and we always need more drivers for trips.
If you have any questions, please email the club execs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have an official calendar with our club meetings and other events. It's a Google Calendar and can be added as a shared calendar on your own Google Calendar, Outlook, Calendar on Mac or iOS, or others. The url to add is http://tinyurl.com/isumcc-calendar . (Right-click the link, copy, and then add that as a shared calendar in your preferred calendar app.)
Alternatively, you can view the calendar here on a normal web page.
