Sigma Gamma Rho was organized November 12th, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana by seven young educators. The Theta Psi chapter was charted May 7th, 1982 by three women on the campus of Iowa State University. This sisterhood serves communities across the world with over 600 chapters and more than 85,000 members. The mission of Sigma Gamma Rho is to enhance the quality of life for women and their families in the U.S. and globally through community service, civil, and social action. With the goal to achieve greater progress in the areas of education, health awareness, and leadership development. Sigma Gamma Rho's members, affiliates, staff and community partners work to create and support initiatives that align with their vision.
