Description
Swine Production Advocates is a student led group focused primarily on commercial swine production. SPA will educate others and advocate for common methods of the swine industry. Meetings, events, and field trips will be held to allow members to meet industry professionals while gaining more knowledge and experience of commercial swine. SPA will also focus on giving back to the community by doing several service projects throughout the year.

| Membership Qualifications |
Any full time student with an interest in commercial swine. Experience in the field is not necessary but interest specifically in commercial swine is necessary. You also must be a full time student at Iowa State University. |
| Membership Restrictions |
There are no major restrictions. As long as the student is full time at Iowa State and has a passion for commercial swine then they are allowed in. |
| Elections/Selection |
Elections for executive teams are voted on by the members. New club members are allowed at any time without a vote. Non-officer members are also allowed to leave without a vote. |
| Meetings |
There is one club meeting a month and one executive team meeting a month sometime before the club meeting. Club meetings will be held the second Tuesday of the month unless changed in certain circumstances. |
Description of Regular Meetings/Activities
| SPA will have monthly meetings and monthly executive team meetings. Club meetings will follow parliamentary procedure and industry professionals will visit as guest speakers. Meetings will also have small community service events done at the end to give back to the community. |
Description of Special Events
| In the future we plan on taking field trips to local production swine operations. This could be in companies' offices, barns, or other areas of production. SPA also attends other clubs events such as Animal Learning Day and Bacon Expo |
