Lambda Pi Eta is a prestigious honor society built to recognize the academic success and scholarly achievements of exceptional Communication Studies majors. Lambda Pi Eta members must be Communication Studies majors that meet academic standards and apply to become members.

Membership Information

Allowed Members Applicants must be either junior or senior standing. Applicants must have a 3.5 major GPA and a 3.25 cumulative GPA. Applicants must have completed at least 12 credits in Communication Studies and 60 total undergraduate credits at the time of application. In the case that they are accepted as members of our Lambda Pi Eta chapter, applicants agree to pay a one-time $30 membership fee as required by the National Communication Association. In the case that they are accepted as members of our Lambda Pi Eta chapter, applicants are expected to attend monthly chapter meetings that will be advised by Dr. Anthony Peavy and Dr. Stacy Tye-Williams. In the case that they are accepted as members of our Lambda Pi Eta chapter, applicants are expected to attend an induction ceremony hosted by the ISU Communication Studies Program.
Allowed Officers Any member inducted into Lambda Pi Eta is eligible to hold officer roles upon election.

Membership Restrictions Anyone that does not meet the qualifications to be a member of Lambda Pi Eta is restricted from participating.
Elections/Selection Elections will be held once a year.
Meetings Meetings will occur monthly

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

Lambda Pi Eta will hold monthly meetings. Each year there will be an induction ceremony to welcome new members into the honor society.

Description of Special Events

Philanthropy Event: Once each year the organization will particpate in a philanthropy event to give back to the community. This event will be decided each year by the membership.
Fundraising Event: Each year the organization will engage in fundraising activities designed to support Lambda Pi Eta to help cover the cost of membership fees, activities, conference attendance, and/or professional development opportunities.
