Special Interest

Description

Students interested in animal training/behavior can get more educated on different professions in the animal behavior/training field with educational presentations from professionals. Club members will come together to build connections and gain friendships based on their common interests. The club's goal is to help educate students interested in animal training and behavior while also bonding students who have a passion for animals.

Membership Restrictions
Elections/Selection - Elections will occur annually during the month of April. - Members interested in running for an officer position will complete a nomination form and submit the form to the current President at least one week prior to the general membership vote. - Voting will occur with the executive members. You will set up an interview with the executive team a month prior to the actual interview. An email will be sent as a reminder 2 weeks prior. - At the interview the candidate will be asked questions by each executive member. The executive team will discuss with one another after all interviews to decide who gets the positions.
Meetings - 2 general meetings every month, every other Thursday at 7 pm, starting in September and ending in April. - At least 2 more meetings a month that can be educational (a presentation from someone who is in the animal trainer/animal behavior field) or a social meeting for club members to get to know one another. - Meetings will last about an hour to an hour and a half. -Executive member meetings will occur after the general meetings for about 1 hour.

Description of Regular Meetings/Activities

- Presentations from people who are in the animal training/animal behavior field. - Social meetings for club members to get to know one another. - At least one fundraiser for an animal organization of the club's choice.
